KING STREET COMES ALIVE WITH KLARNA POP-UP
The team behind the ‘pay later’ revolution, Klarna, took to iconic Manchester retail and leisure destination King Street during October with its ‘House of Klarna’ pop-up shopping experience.
The latest activation by the UK’s most prolific payment brand brought over 25 of the biggest names from British retail to King Street, for a ten-day immersive experience. A mixture of online and high street favourites including ASOS, My Protein, Mothercare, House of Holland, Samsung, Oliver Bonas and Beauty Bay showcased their brands across three floors and nine rooms of 35 King Street. A VIP event launched the experiential shopping festival in style, with DJ Winnie Williams performing an exclusive, eclectic set for guests – who also enjoyed cocktails and canapes from King Street mainstay El Gato Negro. Celebrity attendees included: footballer, Alexander Iwobi, boxer Amir Khan; fashion designer Henry Holland; actress Katie McGlynn; and Love Island contestants Joe Garratt, Jordan Hames, Georgia Steel and Eyal Booker.
House of Klarna offered something fresh for guests to enjoy each day, from styling sessions and beauty treatments to yoga workshops and DJ sets, a fully stocked Klarna Kafé offering free sodas and coffee – plus multi-sensory changing rooms and a ball-pit bathtub. Industry insight was also provided with bespoke sessions from heavyweights Henry Holland and executives of ASOS sharing tips of the trade and advice on how to succeed in the retail industry.
